Sweetheart Station I

Sweetheart Station I is an introductory class where students are able to explore both dance and gymnastics. This combination class focuses on ballet and tap dancing and basic gymnastics shapes. Half a class is spent in the dance studio practicing ballet and tap positions, skills and terminology while the other half of class is spent in the gym practicing body shapes necessary for gymnastics development. This class is meant for beginner’s ages 3 and 4.. Sweetheart Station I students are invited (but not required) to perform both a ballet and tap routine at the Annual Gym-Nation Dance Recital.

Pink leotard, pink ballet shoes and white tap shoes are mandatory. Convertable pink tights are recommended.

Sweetheart Station II

Sweetheart Station II is also an introductory class where students are able to explore both dance and gymnastics. This class focuses on slightly more complicated ballet skills and emphasizes combining these skills in fluid movements. Tap terminology is studied and different sounds and skills are pieced together. During the gymnastics portion of class, students perfect their body shapes and begin to use these shapes in more difficult gymnastics skills. This class is meant for ages 4 and 5yrs. and is one hour long. Sweetheart Station II students are invited (but not required) to perform both a ballet and tap routine at the Annual Gym-Nation Dance Recital.

Light blue leotard, pink ballet shoes and white tap shoes are mandatory. Convertable pink tights are recommended.

Sweetheart Station III

Sweetheart Station III is a more advanced combination of dance and gymnastics instruction.half of class is spent studying ballet baiscs, combining more intricate steps while promoting fluid movements. Tap skills are taught and perfected through practicing combinations that include the upper and lower body. Second part of the class is spent in the gym: obsticle type of class with focus on one to two new skills and others that shape coordination and strength. This class is meant for ages 5 and 6. Sweetheart Station III students are invited (but not required) to perform both a ballet and tap routine at the annual Gym-Nation Dance Recital.

Forest green color leotard, pink ballet shoes and white tap shoes are mandatory. Convertable pink tights are recommended.
